Minnesota resident Ray Sanford while on outpatient commitment is being given electro-shock treatments against his will. Ann L. was just released from an institution earlier this year. Now the state of New York is seeking to forcibly drug Ann L. (not her real name) under Kendra's Law. Ann says these drugs are making her "sick and torture". Ann has the support of MindFreedom International and the Center for Psychiatric Rights. Cesar Chumil, an hispanic man, has spent more than 15 years in seclusion from the general population at Western State Hospital in Staunton, Virginia. MindFreedom Virginia is opposed to coersive treatment, and therefore, we support Mr. Chumil's release back into the community at large. If however Mr. Chumil is not to be released, then we would like to see him transferred to another hospital in the hopes that that hospital will see fit to release him into the community while he is still alive.
